Sickle Cell Blood Drive

Helping Young People Excel and Develop has partnered with Cricket Wireless and Children's National Medical Center to host a Sickle Cell Blood Drive on January 5, 2013. The Drive will be held at 646 Rhose Island Avenue NE Washington, DC 20002. Remember January is National Blood Donor Month.

Symptoms of heat stroke:
  • Hot, dry skin (no sweating)
  • Hallucinations
  • Chills
  • Throbbing headache
  • High body temperature
  • Confusion/dizziness
  • Slurred speech

Due to the heat advisory the DC Department of Parks and Recreation has extended some pool hours.

The following pools will remain open until 8:30pm:
Banneker, Jelleff, Harry Thomas Sr., Rosedale, Benning Park, Anacostia, Fort Staton, Oxon Run.

The following pools will remain open until 9:30pm:
Volta, Francis, Upshur, Theodore Hagan Jr., Fort Dupont, Barry Farms.
